Faith

At St. Peter's faith has always been at the forefront of all our activities, events and learning initiatives.  That has not changed due to COVID.  Even though we have had to find new ways of celebrating and living our faith we have continued to worship in our morning prayers, in our classroom liturgies and have streamed virtual masses from St. John Vianney Church.  Our beautiful school Chapel remains open to students who need a reflective prayer space or guidance of any kind and all students can make an appointment to talk with our school Chaplain if they should ever need or want to.

The faith development of our students is greatly supported by all staff and especially our amazing Religion Department, who help to guide our students on their faith journeys.  Classes can invite our beloved Father Jim into their learning for a virtual visit and discussion.  Our students love to ask Father Jim the “tough” questions.  This year is different and although we cannot visit places on retreat like the Martyrs’ Shrine, this year we have stayed connected to the Shrine through our special Advent Reflection from Father Michael Knox from the Martyrs' Shrine and students have been provided online opportunities of spiritual retreat in classes with their religion teachers.  Our hope is for our students to grow in love and faith and we will continue to do our best to provide these important opportunities for growth for all students.

 In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.   Amen

O Holy Apostle,because you are the Rock

upon which Almighty God has built His church;

obtain for me I pray you,lively faith,

firm hope and burning love;

complete detachment from myself,

contempt of the world,

patience in adversity,

humility in prosperity,

recollection in prayer,

purity of heart,

a right intention in all my works,

diligence in fulfilling the duties of my state of life,

constancy in my resolutions,

resignation to the will of God

and perseverance in the grace of God even unto death;

that so, by means of your intercession and your glorious merits,

I may be worthy to appear before the chief and eternal Shepherd of souls, Jesus Christ, Who with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns forever.

Amen. St Peter Pray for Us
